 | | | | | Gracenote Provides Music Management 12 Sep 2004 CEDIA Expo -- Gracenote®, the worldwide leader in information
services for digital music and media, today announced that the
newly debuting Russound SMS3 "Smart Media Server" will enable
people to quickly identify any song, artist or album in their
entire digital music collection or link to cover art and related
content, using the Gracenote Music Management System.
Demonstrations of this device will be given in Gracenote's CEDIA
booth located in the Dome, #1783. "This is an exciting debut into
the media server market for Russound -- this device offers
sophisticated music management functionality and provides users
with exceptional choices in the way they listen to and store their
music," stated Craig Palmer, president and CEO of Gracenote.
Russound's SMS3 Smart Media Server stores and manages music and
digital images providing easy retrieval from virtually anywhere in
the home. Using Gracenote's technology, the device provides quick
identification and access to a person's entire music collection,
making it easy to find the exact song or type of music a person
wants to listen to in seconds -- for even the largest music
collections. Providing a distributed audio system, it's possible to
listen to several or the same selections, in different rooms at the
same time. When used with a Russound CAV/UNO-S2 system, the artist,
album, and song information is delivered directly to the user via
the UNO display. The SMS3 Media Server comes complete with a CD-ROM
drive, internal 160GB hard drive and an Ethernet connection that
allows the user easy access to their music and digital media
throughout the home. Additionally, the on-board CD-ROM drive allows
the server to be used as a CD player, offering the option of
storing the selection on the hard drive. This is a quick,
convenient way for the listener to create an extensive and easily
sortable collection of their favorite music. The SMS3 also features
a composite video output with an innovative and attractive
graphical user interface making the Russound Media Server easy to
use, entertaining and informative. The SMS3 will be shipping in
September, 2004 at an MAP of $2499. About Gracenote Gracenote® is
