The two hope to convince visitors to donate small amounts of money so when they meet, they can go to a roulette table and plce a bet in the thousands of dollars on one soin of the roulette wheel.
"It"s pure entertainment," says Jeffrey Strain, on of the two. "We"ve decided to go, so why not have the most fun possible? We could make a few bets with our own money, but after talking about it, we decided it would be great to make one huge bet. We know that the only way to make that possible is to get as many people involved in the event as possible, so we started the website."
The two plan to meet in Las Vegas sometime in early 2006. Although they have known each other through collaboration on a number of websites over the Internet for close to 5 years, they have never met in person. And if they don"t get any contributions? "That doesn"t really matter to us," Says Nate Sanden, the other of the duo. "The point is to have fun and the site is fun.
If we only have $10 donated, that is still double the fun of out planned bet. If we can reach our goal of a $10,000 spin, that would just be incredibly exciting." Jeffrey adds, "People usually roll their eyes when they hear about the plan and ask why anyone would donate to something like that? We say, "Why not?" It"s cheaper than the vast majority of entertainment out there and they can be direct participants in it all for a dollar or two."
