Due to the recent US legislation, also know as the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, online casinos have to choose whether they will continue to accept bets from Americans and take the risks involved, or to suspend their operations with the US market and try to focus on other online casino markets.
The public companies are expected to be those who will suffer the most, as the US government fails to understand that, while the repercussions for some of the online casino companies may be fatal, nothing will stop US citizens from making their bets, one way or another. There are currently now more than enough ways for an American gambler to bypass the Congress bill, and as time goes by there will only be more. The US government may have taken the easy way, trying to close the online casino industry instead of regulating it, but it will find out that the only thing they will achieve is to give the underground online casinos an advantage over the self-regulated ones.

The US Congress may not like it, but it is time for them to intelligently address the issue and understand that no matter what, the online casino industry will continue to exist.
